The Opportunity
We currently have an opening in Toronto for a West Manager, Field Finance. The role reports to the Director of National Field Finance and will have a West Field Consultant reporting to it. This position will provide strategic leadership in the areas of franchisee financial and risk management for the Western Canada Region. Provide direction to develop financial models and policies to drive value added behavior within the franchising relationship. Enabling fact-based decision making across the region regarding financial assistance and investment. They will be a thought-partner, provide analysis and reporting of financial indicators for regional leadership. The individual will collaborate closely with the East Manager, Field Finance to ensure consistency around processes. The role will also provide the opportunity to be a Finance thought partner on National cross-functional teams and special projects. Key customers include Regional Leadership, Regional Franchising, Owner-Operators.
This position is a Flex Hybrid Model, requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote

Duties
In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic/Business Development
- Analyzes and consults on the financial impact of key Regional strategies on long-term income growth.
- Participates in the development of long-term Regional strategic plans.
- Influences Regional management on the prioritization of strategies and tactics to balance the impact on income both short- and long-term.
- Understands and interprets business trends (economic, competitive, etc.).
- Provide financial strategic thinking on special projects and national cross functional initiatives.
Regional Profitability Growth
- Partners with the Ontario Controller to coordinate the preparation and presentation of the Region's annual financial plan.
- Interprets trends and forecasts financial results for the West market.
- Identifies gaps between forecasted results and targets, and then makes recommendations to ensure annual Regional financial goals are achieved.
- Works with Finance and Field Service to ensure Regional recommendations are in alignment with Corporate goals.
- Consults with Regional Management regarding the impact of business decisions on short- and long-term profitability and makes recommendations that add to shareholder value (Development, Franchising, Marketing, McOpCo real estate, and strategic initiatives).
Franchisee Profitability Growth
- Improves Franchisees' financial position by analyzing, monitoring and reporting overall business results.
- Participates in the financial planning process with Franchisees and provides recommendations to meet cash-flow and equity goals.
- Identifies and shares profit optimization practices with Franchisees, other Regional Controllers and Regional and Corporate staff.
- Consults with Franchisees on business transactions (new stores, rebuilds, relocations, financial assistance, etc.) that will affect their organization.
- Provides business perspective and financial consultation to Regional Owner/Operator leadership group.
Fiduciary Responsibility
- Ensures that financial practices are sound and in accordance with accounting rules (GAAP, etc.) as well as company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains internal control procedures to safeguard corporate assets.
People
- Responsible for training and consulting of Regional staff, Franchisees and Registered Applicants as it pertains to key financial information, changes in company accounting policies and procedures, and other pertinent data.
- Provides ongoing coaching, training and development of the Center of Excellence Finance Managers.
- Foster an environment that supports high-performing teams.
- Provides value-added feedback to finance and accounting departments regarding reports, policies and procedures.
- Builds and maintains relationships with banks and Accounting firms to support the ongoing success of the System.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in a related discipline with a CPA designation required.
- A minimum 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining effective “One Team” working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Solid influencing and strategic leadership skills.
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $89,599 - $127,998 CAD per year
