With new restaurant openings driving significant growth in the Australian market each year, our National Development Group is at the heart of McDonald's expansion strategy. As the Development Manager you will play an integral role in finding, evaluating and acquiring freehold and leasehold properties. What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Using industry connections, real estate knowledge and experience to actively find new sites in VIC freehold or leasehold) 
  • Assessing and evaluating the feasibility, suitability and potential of each site
  • Managing the end-to-end property acquisition (or leasing) process, including working with the legal team and external consultants (where applicable) to negotiate deals, seek internal approvals, finalize legal documentation, and pursue relevant authority approvals (e.g., development approval) up to possession of the property for handover to the Construction Team
  • Engaging key stakeholders such as Franchisees, McOpCo (Company owned) leadership, vendors, landlords, Senior Leadership Team, corporate departments and National Development Group (NDG)
  • Ensuring alignment and communication between all parties to keep projects on track and deliver on the wider NDG plan

Your keys to success:

  • A degree in Real Estate Development or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience as a property/real estate Development Manager (acquisitions focused) in retail/commercial environment
  • Knowledgeable in property acquisitions, with a developed skill in structuring and negotiating deals
  • Strong understanding of the property market
  • Ability to capture and influence stakeholders
  • Demonstrated results in managing site or project delivery
  • General town planning understanding
