McDonald's is evolving its global marketing model to be more connected, efficient, and effective. As part of this effort, McDonald's is establishing a Future of Marketing team to define how marketing capabilities, processes, and ways of working will evolve over time. The team will help the business better leverage scale, improve consistency across markets, strengthen the overall effectiveness of marketing investments, and drive media process efficiencies.

Reporting to the Customer Engagement Tower Lead, the Future of Marketing: PSD – Customer Engagement: Media Process will define the future-state process design, RACI, and operating model for how McDonald's plans, executes, and governs paid media activity across its customer engagement ecosystem.

The role requires strong knowledge of media planning and buying processes and tools across paid, owned, and earned channels, with a particular emphasis on how media intersects with the digital ecosystem, loyalty, creators and CRM programs & platforms.

Duties

  • Design end-to-end media process workflows within the customer engagement ecosystem, spanning planning, briefing, execution, and performance review.
  • Define RACI frameworks for media-related decision rights across global, market, agency, and technology partners.
  • Document current state process gaps & inefficiencies to inform redesign media planning and investment workflows that enable consistency, speed, and alignment with broader marketing objectives.
  • Establish governance standards for media process execution, including approval flows, investment thresholds, and agency collaboration models.
  • Partner with Media, Martech, CRM, and Loyalty teams to ensure media process designs are integrated with broader customer engagement workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce process friction and improve the speed and quality of media activation across markets.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Engagement Tower Lead and other PSD leads to ensure cohesive process design across the engagement stack.
  • Partner with Content leads to ensure process design links media activation with content creation, to enable effective asset deployment.
  • Support development of change enablement materials to communicate new media process standards to market teams.
  • Partner with the Org Activation team to define the future-state skills and capabilities for marketers and support the development of associated training.
  • Partner with the FoM Data & Insights lead and EDAA team members on future-state media measurement frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience designing media planning and buying processes within large, multi-market marketing organizations, including understanding of ad tech & audience planning
  • Demonstrated experience in media strategy and planning process and tools including scenario modeling.
  • Deep understanding of how paid, owned, and earned media channels are managed across global and local teams.
  • Strong knowledge of how media processes intersect with customer engagement, CRM, loyalty, and mobile marketing.
  • Proven ability to design process frameworks, governance models, and RACI structures in cross-functional environments.
  • Familiarity with broader media ecosystem, publishers and agency relationships, and market-level execution dynamics.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $178,121.00 - $222,651.00 per year
