Duties

This role works horizontally across McDonald’s functions to provide strategic input into the enterprise cross-functional global category strategy. This is achieved through the coordination of critical inputs across Global Supply Chain—including central, segment, market-level stakeholders, existing and new suppliers. This role leads the identification of innovative supplier practices and industry best-in-class solutions, defines strategic sourcing approaches, and ensures engagement of subject matter expertise to uphold essential standards like food safety and quality. The goal is to support growth acceleration with a laser focus on the enterprise global category strategy, delivering on restaurant needs and ensuring customer loved products, while strengthening and leveraging our 3LS competitive advantage.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic input to enterprise cross-functional global category strategy
  • Coordinate across Global Supply Chain including the center, segment, and market stakeholders in service of the category
  • Leverage SMEs to ensure guardrails for quality, food safety, and sustainability are in place to deliver customer loved products to restaurants.
  • Proactively seek out industry-leading innovation, resources, and best practices.
  • Discover/nurture relationships with new suppliers and challenge/leverage existing suppliers to bring in best-in-class innovation, execution, and products.
  • Determine strategic sourcing requirements and solutions to support enterprise global cross-functional category strategy and restaurant needs, including packaging and menu item components.
  • Act as a conductor across the global supply chain teams, including, but not limited to Food Safety and Quality Systems and Logistics to ensure a holistic supply chain approach in service of category needs.
  • Advocate for global and market supply chain considerations.
  • Launch supplier briefs including packaging and ingredients for product building.
  • Organize supplier events to leverage their insights and co-create innovations
  • Hold the checkbook for successful supplier negotiations within Category Management Team.
  • Optimize overall supply portfolio and supplier impacts, and ensure supplier onboarding to McDonald’s expectations, strategic engagement, and performance for long-term category success, in partnership with GSC teams.

Qualifications

  • 4 year accredited degree required, preferably a Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Supply Chain.
  • 5+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, new product development, project management or commensurate experience in related function.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and leverage experts/SMEs to meet the specific category's needs (i.e., food safety) required.
  • Expertise in sourcing, food safety, or quality requirements for chicken category desired.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate across multiple global teams.
  • Embody innovation growth mind-set, be able to think outside of the box and challenge the status quo to leverage current/new resources and suppliers to bring new, innovative approaches.

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$$149,260.00 - $$190,310.00
