Role Overview
As the Director – Endpoint, Automation and Encryption, you will report to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity and lead the design, delivery and evolution of McDonald's endpoint protection and automation capabilities. You will be responsible for advancing our global endpoint security ecosystem with platforms like Tanium, SentinelOne, AppViewX and AppLocker, enabling secure business operations across all endpoints.
This is a hands-on leadership role with accountability for platform engineering, automation strategy, endpoint telemetry, policy enforcement, encryption posture AND global agent health visibility. You will lead a high-performing team to build scalable, reliable solutions that drive automation, reduce attack surface and simplify endpoint management.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the global strategy for endpoint protection, automation, and encryption
- Lead engineering and operations of Tanium, SentinelOne, AppViewX and AppLocker
- Partner with Security Operations, IT and Architecture teams to design resilient endpoint detection and response capabilities
- Architect and automate threat response, vulnerability management and compliance workflows using platform-native and custom tooling
- Design and maintain global agent health strategies, including real-time dashboards and reporting in Power BI to monitor deployment success, coverage gaps and platform performance
- Oversee development of endpoint telemetry collection pipelines to enhance visibility and analytics
- Drive endpoint hardening and policy enforcement at scale
- Implement encryption and data protection policies across user and enterprise endpoints
- Own platform roadmaps and prioritize enhancements based on risk and business value
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members while ensuring operational excellence
- Maintain strong vendor partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies in endpoint and automation space
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in endpoint security, cybersecurity engineering or systems management
- Proven experience managing and scaling platforms like Tanium, SentinelOne and AppLocker
- Strong understanding of endpoint security architecture, automation frameworks and detection/response tooling
- Experience developing and operationalizing dashboards and metrics reporting in Power BI or similar platforms
- Familiarity with EDR, XDR, vulnerability remediation and endpoint compliance strategies
- Proficient in scripting and automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
- Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred:
- 10+ years of experience, including leadership in enterprise endpoint security programs
- Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, Microsoft SC-200 or equivalent
- Experience with encryption technologies, secure configuration management and compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI, GDPR, etc.)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $168,350.00 - $218,860.00 per year.
