Restaurant Experience Team Overview
The Global Restaurant Experience Team is responsible for elevating CX & EX through transforming a restaurant's physical space into a functional, visually appealing, and immersive environment that enhances the overall restaurant experience, making the McDonald's experience distinctively golden.
Collaborates with development leads for US, IOM, and IDL Segments & the Global Development team to identify and address opportunities to elevate the customer & employee experience, fueling the ability to accelerate new store development & grow restaurant sales.
Engineering Innovation Manager Job Responsibilities
The position reports to the Global Restaurant Design Director, Architecture & Design Innovation and will work with other team members to lead and support projects and initiatives that will serve our global markets. The Architecture & Design Innovation team is responsible for all new architectural designs including façade design, new restaurant formats, kitchen facilities design, and restaurant design innovation. The successful performance of this role will directly contribute to achieving the ambitious goals of the Global Restaurant Design team, and those of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead building systems integration and provide engineering guidance for new restaurant format development.
- Lead development of globally applicable engineering solutions and building systems standards for existing and new restaurants to continually improve experiences for both customers and our restaurant teams, and to holistically address business needs.
- Engage with stakeholders and collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to ensure engineering solutions have been aligned and validated with other functions (ex. Operations).
- Work with vendors to design & prototype engineering equipment solutions as needed to support restaurant innovation.
- Create and develop building systems standards, guidelines, and training tools to best communicate restaurant formats and new concepts, in collaboration with the Design Integration team.
Qualification and Requirements
- MHQ-based position (Chicago)
- Professional degree in Engineering and must be licensed engineer (mechanical or electrical)
- Understanding of governing codes
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience creating/supporting scalable building systems solutions for restaurants/food service
- Expertise in building systems design for efficiency and energy savings
- Sense of curiosity with genuine desire to learn and think with agility
- Passion for problem-solving
- Capable of managing projects
- Adept collaboration skills, working effectively and inclusively with multi-disciplinary teams
- Aptitude for building and nurturing relationships
- Excellent communication skills. including the ability to clearly illustrate ideas, concepts, and principles through the most effective method (written, visual, verbal, or combination of) understandable for the identified audience
- A solid knowledge base and strong belief in the critical importance of sustainability, with a passion to continue to learn and contribute to energy savings
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $98,140.00 - $125,130.00 per year
