Department Overview

McDonald’s U.S. Business Counsel & Franchise Practice Group Legal Team is a dynamic, experienced team of legal professionals who protect and enhance McDonald’s strategic franchising interests to ensure that our approximately 14,000 U.S. restaurants are delivering on McDonald’s brand promise of quality, service and cleanliness, creating feel good moments for our customers.

Duties

Legal Assistants on the U.S. Business Counsel & Franchise Practice Group Team are expected to:

  • Manage team calendars, including scheduling in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Coordinate and execute established processes in support of McDonald’s various franchising legal obligations (e.g., send and track receipt of franchise disclosure document)
  • Format, proofread and send correspondence
  • Develop and maintain digital filing systems.
  • Process invoices and manage accruals.
  • Assist booking travel for team members and reconcile and submit expense reports.
  • Help develop team efficiencies and lead change efforts to streamline and modernize existing processes

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent experience required (college degree preferred)
  • 3+ years prior legal assistant and/or project management experience preferred
  • Individual who is driven by values of inclusiveness, kindness and professionalism and is motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to learn, including adopting new technologies to drive efficiency
  • Have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, anticipate needs, prioritize higher value work, and handle deadline pressures and sensitive information
  • Work well individually and also as part of a team, and demonstrate reliability, strong work-ethic, and collaboration with colleagues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with document manage systems (e.g., i-Manage) preferred

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $30.58 - $36.69 per year
