Department Overview

The McDonald’s Corporate Controller Group’s Accounting and Reporting group currently has an excellent opportunity for a Manager to lead our global financial reporting master data process and governance as our Global Chart of Accounts Process & Governance Lead. This position offers a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain an understanding of McDonald’s Corporation, our global business, market and consolidation processes, systems, internal and external reporting, and more. This position allows a candidate to gain visibility across McDonald’s Finance and Global Business Services Organizations and guide how McDonald’s compiles, governs, and ultimately reports on key financial results.

The role’s key customers include the broader Corporate Controller Group, including the Global Close & Consolidations and Financial Reporting teams, as well as the Market Controllership teams and the Accounting Operations teams within Global Business Services. This position calls for an individual with strong organizational skills that can manage multiple priorities/stakeholders and work cross-functionally, who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to build and optimize processes. Duties

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Owns COA policy documents, controls, process flows/improvements/assets (e.g. request forms), cross validation rules, training materials, and communication of updates to up/down stream applications
  • Coordinates and leads master data governance meetings, including prep work and pre-read materials
  • Manages open governance items and resolves issues
  • First point of contact and line of defense for corporate requests (Controllership, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, Legal)
  • Leads annual review of COA & related consolidation, and clean-up projects (as required)
  • Coordinates PAAS mapper updates for segment changes
  • Main point of contact for data steward group, coordinating activity amongst cross-functional data steward group
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders across Technology, global markets, Global Business Services, Corporate functions, Audit, etc.
  • Evolve the finance master data governance process as our processes, technology, and operating model evolves
  • Proactively identify and implement efficiencies within financial processes.
  • Provide fiduciary leadership and promote strong internal control compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 4+ years of experience, including global consolidations and/or RTR experience, required
  • Master Data, COA, or systems experience a plus, particularly with Oracle Cloud (e.g. EDM)
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to operate effectively and build and optimize processes in an ambiguous environment
  • Initiative and creativity in finding efficiencies
  • Outstanding strategic thinking abilities and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage both upward and downward and build positive rapport quickly
  • Able to quickly learn software applications necessary to complete daily tasks

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$112,860.00 - $143,900.00/Yearly
