Department Overview

As the Finance Manager and a key member of the Latin America Business Unit team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Latin America Business Unit on all aspects of financial management. Your duties will encompass strategic planning, performance measurement, financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, internal control, and training. In this capacity, you will play an essential role in driving profitable growth by evaluating the effectiveness of business initiatives within the Business Unit and sharing best practices with other markets to be leveraged across the McDonald’s system.

Additionally, you will be tasked with the development of personnel by organizing training sessions for the DL Finance Team, supporting their growth into valuable business partners within their respective DL Organizations. As the gatekeeper for financial proficiency, you will enhance the market finance team’s expertise in McDonald’s control procedures and processes, ensuring compliance across all markets.

 

This position reports directly to the Finance Lead – Latin America Business Unit.

Duties

Latin America BU Profitability Growth

  • Support the preparation and presentation of the Business Unit’s annual financial plan.

  • Interpret trends and forecast the financial results for the Business Unit.

  • Identify gaps between forecasted results and targets, and make recommendations to ensure that annual financial goals are achieved.

  • Manage G&A expenses, ensuring all expenditures are justified.

  • Assess the effectiveness of business initiatives in the BU and report findings to Segment Management.

  • Share best practices with other markets to enable their adoption within the McDonald’s system.

Financial Control and Reporting

  • Monitor that financial practices are sound and align with accounting rules, company guidelines, policies, and procedures.

  • Enhance the proficiency level of the market finance team in McDonald’s control procedures and processes, ensuring compliance in all markets.

  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard corporate assets.

  • Ensure all systems and data processing tools incorporate integrity and reliability.

  • Set up timely and accurate reporting systems to provide relevant information to key stakeholders, Segment Management, team members, and Corporate.

  • Implement value-enhancing initiatives.

  • Ensure all payments are made promptly and suppliers are treated with integrity.

  • Arrange for follow-up on Internal Audit findings and remediation actions.

Systems Development

  • Manage and develop the finance information system, granting approved users access to necessary databases.

  • Approve system improvements and promote an integrated system development program.

  • Identify opportunities for re-engineering and process improvement to reduce workload and increase efficiency for the accounting department.

People Development

  • Support and assist with the training and development of finance personnel.

  • Coach, consult, and provide guidance on the financial impact analysis of key strategies.

  • Deliver training for finance controllers in DL Markets, including areas such as PDS, 10-year projections for NSO, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Ensure the sharing of best practices within segment markets.

  • Organize training for the DL Finance Team to help them develop into valuable business partners within their DL Organizations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English and fluency in Spanish are required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent professional qualification required.
  • Strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to influence and deliver results through effective partnership and influence.
  • The preferred location for this position is Chicago.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $115,872.00 - $144,840.00 per year
