Job Description
McDonald's International Developmental Licensee (IDL) Markets Segment / Business Unit (BU) is responsible for the delivery and operation of core technology solutions across 79 markets, supporting 19,000+ restaurants and offices. Our mission is to implement innovative, secure, and scalable technology that improves customer experience and drives business success.
The Manager, IDL BU Technology, is responsible for supporting technology alignment, adoption and execution across 29 markets within the Latin America Business Unit representing $6B+ in sales. Reporting to the Sr. Director, IDL BU Technology, this role ensures alignment with global technology standards, drives efficiency, and supports market technology leadership in implementing enterprise-wide solutions.
The role involves teamwork and partnership with various internal and external stakeholder groups such as the Global Restaurant Technology team, Global Infrastructure & Operations team, IDL Strategy and Planning team, Regional Cyber Security team, Developmental licensee market leaders and SMEs.
The right person will be motivated to work with team members, partners and suppliers across the globe, proactively establish relationships and nurture a culture of teamwork and partnership through co-creation of technology deployment and adoption plans that align with our corporate technology standards and objectives. The role requires a well-rounded business insight to map Global Technology and business strategies and derive adoption plans for the Latin America business unit.

Responsibilities
Lead and Guide LATAM markets
- Provide mentorship to Technology Leadership of Latin American’s markets on McDonald’s global technology standards
- Support development and lead BU-wide technology programs, ensuring effective execution across multiple markets
Technology Execution Support
- Supervise technology implementations, ensuring compliance with global standards and security protocols
- Drive adoption of enterprise technology solutions, encouraging operational efficiency and cost savings
- Follow governance frameworks to supervise performance, ensure standard methodologies, and enhance deployment processes
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborating with BU team, global technology teams, and market technology leadership to align technology priorities with business objectives
- Communicate technology advancements and value to internal and external stakeholders through structured engagement.
Financial planning & Resource Management
- Support multi-year technology investment planning (CAPEX/OpEx) to ensure sustainable growth and innovation
- Support guidance on budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight of technology initiatives
Change Management & Continuous Improvement
- Support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that technology enhances business performance.
- Support transformation initiatives, remove barriers to adoption, and promote standardization across markets.
- Share standard methodologies across markets through regular briefings, knowledge-sharing forums, and Technology Leadership meetings.
Collaboration
- Develop adoption strategies for existing technology initiatives in LATAM, collaborating closely with key collaborators to prioritize efforts based on business needs and organizational capacity.
- Work with the strategy & planning team in the development of a rolling 3yr deployment plan for each market, based on defined scope & requirements to ensure markets and Global collaborators are aligned on agreed results
- Work in partnership with the Global and IDL Strategy & Planning teams to handle demand and prioritize initiatives across markets. Approach must include ROI to enable prioritization and ensure accountability.
Qualifications
- Leadership skills and the ability to lead others
- Establishing relationships with and influencing leadership, collaborators and partners
- Knowledge of technology fields such as software development, infrastructure, technology operations and cyber security
- Experience with leading all aspects of multiple work streams in multiple markets
- Strong project management skills (organizing and running the expectations of multiple collaborators, approvals processes, timelines, ensuring relevant parties are made aware of project milestones/achievements/risks and outcomes)
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to capture and coordinate information, handle multiple projects and work streams and prioritize workload as necessary
- Proficient in English; proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferably
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated 5 years of ability in Technology, preferably in Retail or QSR industry
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams
- Project management experience
- Innovation-minded

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $112,860.00 - $143,900.00 per year
