Department Overview
McDonald’s Treasury seeks to drive business growth and enhance stakeholder value by providing world-class global financial leadership and expertise to the McDonald’s System. Guided by McDonald’s Values, the Treasury team works as trusted business partners to protect and build the McDonald’s brand by maximizing System access to capital and liquidity, safeguarding Company assets, managing financial risks, and providing the business with financial counsel, education, and expertise to make informed decisions.
Seeking a Treasury Manager on the Global System Finance Team to oversee commodity financial risk management strategies within McDonald’s global supply chain. The Manager will prioritize operator financial health through commodity hedging strategies in support of predictable and stable food and paper costs. This role will report to the Director of Global System Finance and manage a team of one Sr. Treasury Analyst. Partnering with the Treasury and Supply Chain teams, suppliers, and financial services partners, the Manager will have product category risk management ownership, including analyzing data that drives risk management decisions and providing visibility into business performance. Through these priorities, the Manager will be exposed to global macroeconomic trends and the diverse markets of commodities and directly impact franchisees’ food and paper spend by generating and influencing risk management hedging decisions.
Responsibilities
- Actively monitor financial markets and global macroeconomic environment to understand primary drivers of commodity markets.
- Contribute to the evolution of the risk management function:
- Evaluate advanced risk management strategies with our suppliers while balancing the risk vs. reward of providing stability for franchisee food and paper costs.
- Explore and deploy technology-based solutions to streamline and optimize data analytics, reporting, and workflow.
- Assess current processes and ways of working to ensure we are focusing on what matters most on behalf of the franchisees.
- Manage cross-departmental projects and initiatives, creating opportunities for collaboration and leadership across various departments.
- Oversee recurring reporting processes and management presentations to drive visibility into business performance and resource planning decisions.
- Develop and lead training and education sessions with various internal and external stakeholders to build awareness and understanding of financial risk management concepts.
- Conduct market research and confirm that market risks are being accurately measured, reported, appropriately controlled and mitigated, and in line with stated risk appetite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field required. Advanced degree or professional certification in relevant field desired.
- 5+ years of Finance or Supply Chain related experience. Previous commodity markets or financial risk management experience encouraged.
- High level of curiosity with strong business acumen.
- Ability to network within a large organization and build trusted partnerships while influencing through insight and collaboration.
- Strong people leadership and team management skills.
- Continuous learning mindset with an interest in financial markets.
- Strong project management and prioritization capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to influence decision making through excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in an easily understandable way.
- Excellent quantitative skills and experience analyzing large amounts of data to synthesize various findings into actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office required. Experience with advanced analytical tools and software is a plus (i.e. VBA, R, Python, Alteryx, Tableau).

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $112,860.00 - $143,900.00 per year
