Department Overview

This position will support the operations and enablement to deliver the value of McDonald’s Supply Chain Food Sustainability Strategy with the Sustainable Food Sourcing Enablement Director in partnership with suppliers, markets, segments, and global functions; this position will be successful by enhancing excellence in ways of working with the System to strategize, align, execute, and report on sustainability, resiliency and public commitments.

Duties

Enable the Global Supply Chain Sustainable Food Sourcing team deliver value from the Food Sustainability Strategy with the following, but not limited, responsibilities:

 

Support the execution of Operational Excellence in:

  • Enabling the proper execution of the ways of working including supporting organization, coordination and prioritization of work, management of complex projects, objectives and long-term outcomes.
  • Operationalize insights, accountability, reporting including measurement, KPIs, data collection and system updates (BTDT), regulatory readiness and public ESG reporting processes (McDonald’s Purpose & Impact, sustainable sourcing frameworks – TCFD, ACOP, CGF Forest Positive, etc).

 

Support the Enterprise Cross-functional Alignment in:

  • Enabling sustainability-wide solutions and strategies with corporate functions (GSC teams, Impact, Finance, Legal, Menu) and Segment/Markets, Suppliers and Categories.

 

Support Supplier Engagement Strategy across food sustainability, in collaboration with Sustainable Sourcing SMEs and Category Sourcing Leads, be responsible for:

  • Framing sustainability expectations for suppliers (e.g. cost model, climate claims, etc).
  • Defining the supplier engagement plan taking into consideration McDonald’s critical milestones.
  • Managing supplier communications, tracking on progress and questions.

 

Support Market and Segment Synchronization in:

  • Aligning with markets and segments on suppliers’ expectations and on the engagement plan.
  • Aligning with Phase Planning and Segment leads across strategies/general process.
  • Collaborating with Segment teams – Impact, Field Service and others in REX  - on market communications and sequencing.

 

Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 5+ years of post-college experience working in decentralized organizations, leading change management campaigns.
  • Good understanding of supply chain food sustainability and responsible sourcing (i.e. Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Deforestation, Land Conversion and Natural Resources, Animal Health & Welfare, Farm-level Human Rights).
  • Good understanding of measurement, data analytics, technology and reporting skills, ideally on sustainability topics.

Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 5+ years of post-college experience working in decentralized organizations, leading change management campaigns.
  • Good understanding of supply chain food sustainability and responsible sourcing (i.e. Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Deforestation, Land Conversion and Natural Resources, Animal Health & Welfare, Farm-level Human Rights).
  • Good understanding of measurement, data analytics, technology and reporting skills, ideally on sustainability topics.
  • Possess strong analytical skills including problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution, staying focused on the outcome.
  • Excellent communication skills, writing capabilities, oral communication and presentation skills, and ability to succinctly update leadership.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with cross functional teams, including effectively run programs and projects; ensure timeliness and excellent deliverables.  Prioritizes and balances multiple responsibilities. 
  • Ability to develop and manage KPIs, metrics and support data systems for strategy, regulatory readiness and public reporting.
  • Effectively operates in fast-moving, matrixed, and evolving environments.
  • Ability to quickly build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders in a decentralized and global environment.
  • Positive and collaborative approach.  Assumes good intent.
  • Values intellectual rigor, feedback, and lifelong learning.

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$112,860.00 - $143,900.00
