Job Description
The Manager of U.S. Sourcing Strategy reports to the Director, U.S. Sourcing Strategy. This role involves coordinating supply assurance, encouraging supplier relationships, planning, and implementing US business priorities for assigned categories.
This role requires a strong leadership and a strategic approach. Central to your success is establishing relationships with suppliers, operators and internal collaborators. You will need to connect frequently with US collaborators, suppliers, and your global counterparts. Participation on cross functional teams to support innovation and business priorities will be encouraged.
This role is based at our McDonald’s Headquarters in Chicago
Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering:
- Builds and grows relationships with strategic supplier partners to enable key business drivers and assure long term supply resiliency for McDonald’s.
- Develops and cultivates relationships with internal cross functional partners including Marketing, Brand & Menu Strategy, Operations, Consumer Insights & Strategy, Brand Impact, and external third-party resources in support of Supply Chain activities.
Sourcing Strategy & Execution:
- Ensures US market, US supply chain and global supply chain priorities are driven and implemented.
- Leads all aspects of cost management, restaurant pricing and forecasting for chicken and eggs.
- Develop and complete annual and long-term sourcing strategies to improve resiliency and performance across prioritisation and testing, cost savings, and digitalization
- Negotiate pricing protocols with category suppliers and complete category Strategic Sourcing Reviews when needed
- Partner with global counterparts to demonstrate standard processes from around the world to increase efficiency and eliminate excess
- Leading various project and cross-category functions for the US Sourcing team.
Qualifications
- 4-year accredited degree required, preferably a Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience in Business or Supply Chain.
- Confirmed experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, new product development, project management or commensurate experience in related function.
- Customer first mentality with a passion to lead, drive growth and continuous improvement.
- Ability to cultivate significant partner relationships and influence both internally and externally to provide McDonald’s with the highest value goods and services.
- Ability to sense & pivot, make decisions in ambiguous and dynamic business environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to synthesize sophisticated information and articulate in a concise manner, translating into business recommendations.
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment and changing business dynamics.
- Capability to absorb macroeconomic and geopolitical trends and events and identify/mitigate overall and industry specific supply chain risks.
- Good problem-solving, negotiation and corrective action/resolution skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; active listener, relatable to others, cultivate partnership approach, conflict resolver

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is: $112,860- $143,900
