Job Description
The Customer Engagement and Experience team is a part of US marketing and nurtures profitable customer relationships through meaningful engagements and seamless experiences by leveraging data, innovation, and technology.
The Customer Experience and Engagement team relentlessly pursues ways to remove friction and add delight for customers and crew throughout their journeys, enabling our customers to choose McDonald’s more across all digital channels. They also oversee the digital customer engagement strategy, investment, ad execution across all owned channels.
McDonald’s aims to grow McDelivery through both third-party platforms (like DoorDash, Uber Eats and GrubHub) and our first-party platform, the McDonald’s app. As a key growth driver, McDelivery reaches customers during times they don’t typically order McDonald’s. The Manager, US Delivery Strategy, plays a key role in driving demand and creating the fastest, most reliable delivery experience in the industry.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
· Manage Delivery Partnerships: Support Delivery leadership by managing day-to-day partnerships with third-party delivery providers at a U.S. market level. This includes oversight of joint roadmaps, technical service-level agreements, and business KPIs.
· Owned Channel Leadership: Act as the daily owner for McDonald’s owned-channel delivery operations (via the McDonald’s mobile app), ensuring seamless execution and customer experience.
· Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Lead a daily cross-functional team responsible for upholding delivery standards and implementing best practices across product innovation, operational excellence and data-driven insights.
· Strategic Integration & Collaboration: Partner with Global Delivery, Customer Experience (CX), Digital Product & Experience, and Marketing teams to embed delivery needs and priorities across commercial, product, operational, and marketing strategies as part of the annual McDonald’s business planning process. Ensure alignment with McDonald’s broader digital strategy and technical infrastructure.
· Execution & Iteration: Regularly facilitate and lead cross-functional and external partner teams to drive alignment, refine concepts, remove barriers to execution, and ensure continuous improvement.
· Business Leadership Across Functions: Provide strategic direction across key business areas such as technology, pricing, marketing, and finance to enhance the delivery customer experience.
· Insights & Performance Reporting: Drive performance analytics and business insights related to owned-channel delivery. Collaborate with Delivery and Digital Insight teams to identify new opportunities, track KPIs, and propose optimizations.
· Innovation & Strategic Projects: Contribute to global strategic innovation initiatives, helping shape the future of delivery through new ideas, pilots, and forward-looking solutions.
The ideal candidate is:
- Knowledgeable: A strong understanding of consumer strategy; strategy creation and execution, leading cross-functional teams and measuring KPIs.
- A storyteller: comfortable packaging and communicating strategy in a clear and compelling way that impacts the thinking of cross-functional teams and at all levels of leadership (including executive communications)
- Strategic: ability to assess business strategies and objectives to determine the largest business opportunities
- Organized and Resilient: can drive projects to completion, prioritize across multiple needs, and efficiently maintain relationships; internal, agency and vendor partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in marketing or a related field
- Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to adapt to various stakeholder groups.
- Ability to contribute to, influence, and frequently lead cross-functional teams
- Experience working in a sophisticated, global, matrixed organization
- Strong influence across all levels within the system and trust with operator partners
- Ability to manage multiple complicated projects with varying stage gates and timelines
- Experience in the food & beverage industry or delivery is preferred

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $98,140.00 - $125,130.00 per year
