Department Overview

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO), where our mission is to deliver modern and relevant technology that supports the way McDonald's works. We provide best-in-class foundational technology products and services, including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. It's our goal to always provide an engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers. 

The Manager, Operations Excellence is responsible for driving disciplined execution, operational consistency, and measurable value delivery across GTIO. This role sits at the intersection of program execution and operational strategy, ensuring that initiatives are delivered predictably, at scale, and aligned to enterprise priorities.

This leader partners across GTIO functional towers to standardize ways of working, strengthen governance, and enable clear performance visibility. The ideal candidate brings a balance of hands-on execution, structured problem solving, and enterprise-level thinking to simplify complexity and improve how work gets done across the organization.

Duties

1. Program Delivery Excellence

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional programs aligned to GTIO priorities and roadmap

  • Ensure consistent use of standardized program management frameworks, tools, and templates

  • Drive end-to-end execution discipline, including milestones, dependencies, and deliverables

  • Proactively identify risks and interdependencies; lead mitigation and resolution across stakeholders

2. Operational Excellence & Standardization

  • Define and implement scalable processes, tools, and governance models to improve operational efficiency

  • Establish and embed repeatable ways of working that enhance consistency and quality of delivery

  • Reduce complexity by simplifying workflows and improving operational transparency

3. Governance & Performance Management

  • Lead governance forums (e.g., stage gates, operating reviews, portfolio checkpoints)

  • Define and manage KPIs and performance metrics to track program and operational health

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to enable data-driven decision making

  • Ensure clear accountability and escalation paths across initiatives

4. Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner GTIO towers to ensure alignment on priorities and execution

  • Facilitate clear communication and decision-making across senior stakeholders

  • Support leadership engagement through structured updates, executive communications, and insights

5. Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Support GTIO transformation initiatives by embedding best-in-class operational practices

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and value realization

  • Drive adoption of continuous improvement methodologies and performance optimization approaches

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Program/project management
    • Operations excellence / PMO / strategy execution
  • Experience operating within complex, cross-functional environments
  • Strong familiarity with:P
    • program governance models
    • Agile/hybrid delivery methodologies
    • Performance management frameworks

 

Preferred:

Experience within large-scale, global technology organizations

Exposure to enterprise transformation initiatives

Knowledge of financial governance and portfolio management practices

Certifications (preferred but not required): PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $115,872.00 - $144,840.00 per year
