In this critical business role as Manager, Global Operations Strategy and Standards, you will be responsible for leading work centred around McDonald’s Global Restaurant Standards (GRS) which ensures brand protection for McDonald’s and restaurant standards adhered to globally.

This role encompasses all areas involved with Global Restaurant Standards (GRS); from evolving our digital platform housing all Global Restaurant Standards, to leading a Governance Team overseeing market exception requests, to partnering with subject matter experts to ensure Operations PACE standards visits are current each year.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, MCX Global Operations Strategy and Standards and is based in Chicago, IL at the McDonald’s Headquarters (MHQ) or within an international market hub. 

Duties

  • Coordinate and lead the GRS platform evolution roadmap, including proactive monthly and budget updates
  • Provide GRS updates for Operating Leadership Council and Operating Advisory Council meetings when required
  • Proactively identify opportunities/gaps in the GRS platform in functionality and information to prioritize and build into the roadmap
  • Liaise with Global Business Functions to onboard new standards into the GRS platform
  • Strategically support markets when they seek to understand more detail on a GRS; influence those seeking to deviate from the standard and guide them through the exception process  
  • Lead and coordinate Governance team routines to ensure market exception requests are processed quickly and ensure new standards are approved and onboarded with a timely market-wide communication strategy
  • Partner with the Global Operations PACE lead to understand the annual market activation timelines to ensure Operations PACE standards visits are ready for market activation
  • Proactively coordinate and lead cross-functional partnerships to ensure Operations PACE standards visits are evolved, reviewed, and updated by the experts ready for Operations PACE activation
  • Coordinate annual routines for approving the Operations PACE visit localization and translation process
  • Support collaboration and change management within Global Operations as well as cross-functional teams and Segment/Markets
  • Build/support broad Operations network to understand market opportunities and needs, striving for continuous improvement in operations grounded in key insights

  • Must have strong influencing skills, experience in driving enterprise-wide change management, and be able to work across lines of senior management, other business functions, agency/vendor partners and other staff as appropriate to build an engaging stakeholder network
  • Leverages knowledge of product development and user experience design to identify opportunities for site improvements, translating insights into enhancements that drive usability, adoption, and performance.
  • Applies knowledge and experience to develop strategic points of view to support business growth drivers and improve seamless and memorable experiences for both our customers and restaurant teams
  • Thinks at a Global, enterprise level and has the ability to understand and represent multi-layered global and market audiences
  • Creates an environment of high level of accountability and has a strong bias toward action to drive project work forward proactively
  • Understands customer and market opportunity
  • Is a proactive self-starter, motivated to drive change, and committed to team growth through shared learning and communication

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years business experience with progressive responsibilities owning initiatives and driving strategy at the Manager band; experience in Operations is preferred
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Operations PACE
  • Held previous roles in working in global functional teams and/or market experience in Operations

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $115,872.00 - $144,840.00 USD per year
