Department Overview

The Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO) organization delivers the modern, secure, and scalable technology foundation that powers McDonald's. Our mission is to provide outstanding infrastructure, teamwork, and end-user technologies that keep the business connected and productive worldwide.

Lead worldwide M365 collaboration ecosystem strategy alongside the End User Computing team at McDonald's! The team’s scope extends across SharePoint, Teams, Power BI/Platform, and Microsoft Copilot. You will drive modernization, reliability, and security of our collaboration stack while delivering seamless user experiences at enterprise scale!

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Collaboration Solutions. It's a great chance for an experienced tech leader to improve teamwork services globally at McDonald’s.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead the product delivery roadmap for enterprise messaging and collaboration services. Working primarily with Exchange but helping with SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, Power Platform, and key third-party integrations.
  • Lead engineering and operational excellence for Exchange Online, and associated messaging security (DKIM, DMARC, SPF).
  • Architect and govern SMTP and application mail services, ensuring global compliance, performance, and reliability.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to align roadmaps, handle dependencies, and ensure successful global deployments.
  • Drive Exchange/Outlook service improvements and support broader M365 collaboration adoption and governance.
  • Collaborate with managed service providers to maintain SLA performance, resolve incidents, and handle changes effectively.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, standards, and lifecycle roadmaps for Exchange and other M365 collaboration products.
  • Assure timely, within-budget delivery of product and platform implementations while sustaining operational excellence.
  • Provide executive-level visibility on program achievements, service health, and risk posture.
  • Lead problem management and root-cause analysis of sophisticated service issues.
  • Act as a main contact during enterprise system upgrades, improvements, and service readiness activities.

Qualifications

  • Alignment with McDonald’s core values: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.
  • Shown success managing large-scale M365 enterprise environments.
  • Extensive technical proficiency in Exchange Online/Hybrid, covering transport, connectors, mail flow, authentication, and security.
  • Solid grasp of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power BI, and Copilot.
  • Understanding of identity, access, and compliance controls (Conditional Access, Purview, retention policies, eDiscovery).
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing collaborators and vendor partnerships within a global enterprise environment.
  • Superb communication and documentation skills, capable of translating technical details into executive-ready insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise collaboration or messaging architecture roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Exchange Online/Hybrid M365 environments.
  • 5+ years handling SMTP services (e.g., Mailjet, Mailgun).
  • Familiarity with Copilot for Microsoft 365 enablement and governance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and Power BI reporting.
  • Experience leading global deployments and service transitions in multi-tenant or hybrid environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (advanced degree preferred).

Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale system implementations and multi-functional initiatives.
  • Experience architecting, engineering, and operating Exchange Online, Exchange On-Prem, and hybrid environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of messaging protocols (SMTP, HTTP, MAPI) and security frameworks (DKIM, DMARC, SPF).
  • Dedication to knowing the latest M365 capabilities and collaboration trends.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860.00 - $143,900.00 per year
