Duties
The Senior Director, Tech Lead reports into the VP of Restaurant Technology and is responsible for technical development of a suite of products used by our crew, restaurant managers, owner operators and Operations partners. The Sr Director Tech Lead partners with Product Management and Design functions to develop and deliver solutions in line with our roadmaps. The role is responsible for the delivery of applications/services that meet the functional and non-functional requirement including security, scalability, and stability of products. The role will also set the technical strategy of products, help make technical tradeoff decisions, manage technical risk, and help communicate strategies and updates to senior leadership.
The Senior Director, Tech Lead is a leadership role that includes the management and development of top talent within the team. This leader will create a culture of innovation, collaboration, taking ownership and acting with speed. The role will also help develop and mentor talent that will become the future technology leaders within McDonald's.
This role will also be a champion for establishing high engineering, development and testing standards within the organization. In addition, the role will apply financial discipline towards the development and operating costs of their products.
Department Overview
The Restaurant Tech Engineering team leads the development of all the applications that run in our 40,000+ restaturants world wide. This team has end to end ownership over the development of our point of sale system, kiosks, digital menu board, menu management systems, as well as some of our new emerging technologies driven by AI and ML. As part of the CPP organization, this team partners with Product Management and Design teams to develop solutions and with markets and segments to deploy solutions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering / product development teams
- Seasoned technical leader with hands-on development and deployment experience with insights into the newest technology and development trends.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across an at-scale, complex, global matrix org structure
- Deep understanding of business, information, technical architecture (e.g. architecture principles design, deployment models), security
- Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations, geographies and business units
- Experience developing solutions that provide high levels of resilience and scale.
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions with stakeholders of all levels of technical expertise
- Active coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and maximize team members’ potential

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $219,522-$274,403 per year
