Department Overview
We are looking for a Sr. Manager - Tech Lead in the McDonald’s Global Technology organization. You’ll lead engineering teams focused on extending McDonald’s Offers platform capabilities across global markets. This includes integration of Loyalty, Rewards, Promotions, and MarTech capabilities into McDonald’s digital commerce channels (mobile app, web, kiosk).
This role partners collaborates closely with the Sr. Product Manager - Offers Platform, as well as the Design & UX leads to define and implement the product roadmap for Offers Platform. This role will define technical solutions that are reusable, scalable, and secure, which will be critical for integrating our capabilities across global markets. To achieve these outcomes, you’ll collaborate with multiple McDonald’s teams, including other Product teams, Engineering, Design, Pricing, Strategic Insights, Marketing, and Legal. This role will be responsible for managing product reliability, technical debt, and influence into prioritization and sequencing of product backlog with an emphasis on extensibility and scalability.

This team is integral to enabling McDonald’s marketers to deliver a more personalized and relevant and engaging experience on a global scale. This role will report directly to the Director of Offers and Value Optimization in the Global Technology organization.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- As a member of the Global Offers & Value Tech Team, you will lead the end-to-end development of capabilities of the offer platform that seamlessly integrate into the McDonald’s Digital Ecosystem and the MarTech stack. As a tech leader, you will own the tech vision, solutioning, development and integration.
- Provide Technical leadership to a global software development team for cloud-native, micro-services based, event driven architectural solutions
- Develop and launch the capabilities that enable Offer redemptions in seamless customer interactions.
- Design scalable, flexible technical solutions that can be adopted globally while allowing for local market configuration.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Data, and Architecture teams to build an integration framework that makes it easy for partners to onboard.
- Uphold and model Agile leadership via software development practices, methodologies, and ceremonies with development squads.
- Partner with Product Management, Design, and UX team(s) to lead the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming process
- Manage the output (quality and efficiency) of internal development as well as external vendor squads to ensure they are delivering to the McDonald’s technical architectural specifications, quality standards, and security standards.
- Accountable for deployment of new features including QA, push to production and defect remediation
- Solution Design: Engage with customers to comprehend the business goals, user experience, and design prerequisites, and craft logical technical solution designs that satisfy these criteria. Ensure that code development aligns with architectural, quality, and security standards
- Leading Development Squads: Manage squad capacity and ensure the right blend of abilities and technical expertise needed to achieve business goals. Ensure engineers understand the business context and requirements of the solutions and products. Ensure teams
- Continuous Engineering Improvement: Evolve and promote standard methodologies for engineering. Ensure observability of systems and integrations within your domain to improve reliability and reduction of technical debt. Ensure security-based design to reduce customer and brand risk. Ensure high levels of testing coverage and end to end testing processes to derisk deployments. Regularly review performance to inform individual and cross-product optimization.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in, software engineering, technical / solution architecture, technical project management, or a related field
- 8 plus years of proven experience in Software Delivery, Engineering or Architecture
- Experience leading a team of Tech Leads / Product Engineers to deliver digital products with measurable results.
- Experience leading and delivering cloud native, microservices, and event driven architectural solutions.
- Experience working in a global organization, preferably franchised and in the consumer/retail sector
- Experienced in pair programming, continuous integration, development that includes testing, and incremental design
- Experience in Agile Development methodologies, with practical application across the Product Development Lifecycle
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical collaborators
- Bring experience in one or more of the following: Large scale implementation of an ecommerce, Loyalty, Rewards, or Offers ecosystem.
- Have a proven ability to inspire and manage high-performing engineering teams, especially if you enjoy building teams’ problem-solving skills and engineering competency
- Effectively communicate your vision, strategy, and progress to drive alignment across the organization, to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Proficient in managing collaborators and influencing, in a matrixed and global organization

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $149,260.00 - $190,310.00 per year
