Department Overview

The McDonald’s Corporate Controller’sFinancial Accounting and Reporting group has an excellent opportunity for a supervisor to join our team. This role is in the Technical accounting team. This role offers the Technical Accounting Supervisor to be a collaborative business partner providing insight and analysis to other corporate departments. This role also involves accounting, analysis, and reporting in some of the Company’s more technical accounting areas including stock-based compensation expense, corporate restructurings, and various other unique transactions.  In addition to monthly and quarterly close requirements, the supervisor is responsible for the preparation of various reporting schedules and footnotes and for advising on technical accounting areas. Our environment is fast-paced and going through change, requiring the candidate to be able to help drive efficiencies.

Duties

  • Accountability on McDonald’s technical accounting policies
  • Accounting and guidance on technical accounting matters
  • Prepares various 10-K/Q schedules and footnotes in the company’s SEC filings
  • Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and analysis for equity, share-based compensation expense, and other technical accounting areas
  • Accounting for legal entity restructurings and specialized accounting transactions
  • Assist with various ad-hoc requests and special projects for finance management and global finance teams
  • Participation in special projects with the Financial Accounting and Reporting team.
  • Understand McDonald’s accounting policies and how to apply them to new Company initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in an accounting role , big 4 public experience preferred
  • Proven success with problem solving and ability to resolve complex issues 
  • Technical accounting knowledge in various areas.
  • Experience with Oracle FCCS or other consolidation systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new and complex concepts
  • Outstanding analytical abilities and communication skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and balance priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Initiative and creativity in finding process improvement
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have the ability to quickly learn other software applications necessary to complete daily tasks

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $75,700.00 - $94,620.00 per year
