Job Description

The U.S. Food Safety & Quality Systems (USFSQS) Team is part of the North America Supply Chain function that enables the McDonald’s System to connect customers with food they love and trust.  Primary responsibilities include:

 

  • Primary Responsibilities
    • Develops and acts as a US Food Safety (FS) standards and performance expert responsible for the daily oversight, management, analyses and reporting for Food Safety Risk Management (FSRM) information and compliance databases (internal and external). 
    • Translate food safety data/metrics into effective storytelling to show how FS impacts business performance and customer satisfaction as well as aids in driving FSRM results across the three-legged stool (3LS).
    • Brings a system-first, creative and agile mindset to seek ways to continuously improve and optimize the USFSQS team’s capability to manage FS standards and performance, while proactively seeking ways to improve information accuracy and integrity.
    • Build strong, trusted relationships within USFSQS and US Supply Chain teams and with other key stakeholders across the 3LS, to ensure open lines of communication and collaboration. 
    • Provides subject matter expertise across the 3LS, where applicable.
    • Provides ongoing tracking information and compliance database coaching and training, ensuring cross-functional team and 3LS engagement.
    • Leads self and provides lateral or informal leadership across the 3LS. 

 

  • Key Needs of the Role
    • FSRM performance tracking and reporting, managing delivery, summary and analysis of relevant information, enabling the USFSQS team to develop appropriate food safety oversight strategies and compliance with US and Global standards, etc.
    • Anticipates current and changing business needs, collaborates in the development, execution and reporting of the FSRM plan and scorecard/KPI measurements in conjunction with the USFSQS analyst.
    • Maintains and utilizes all global and US databases (e.g. EcoSure 3P-FSV tracking) with accountability to lead tool development and enhancement.
    • Provides oversight and daily management of McDonald’s Food Safety Culture execution with specific focus on verifying execution of communication strategies (including Field Office engagement), training materials and actively managing issues and finding consensus solutions.
    • Reviews and maintains FS standards, resources and materials in conjunction with key stakeholders. 
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology and data systems, bringing Innovation & Technology ideas and potential solutions to the team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Food Safety experience, QSR/Food industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferably in food science or related field
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI and Structured Query Language (SQL) experience preferred
  • Understand organizational project, program and/or product lifecycle management concepts.
  • Possess strong analytical skills including problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, remain curious, and adapt effectively in fast-changing environments.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate information with FSQS team members, supply chain and the others across the system

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $85,014.00 - $106,267.00 per year
