Department Overview

The McDonald’s Global Mobility Team is responsible for leading the efforts to ensure our global assignee population (expats, inpats, third country nationals, international relocations and localizations) moves are executed in an efficient and effective manner.  We collaborate with our global assignees and key internal and external stakeholders to provide a great experience that allows our assignees to focus on their business role, while we ensure all aspects of their move and living away from their home country are seamless.  This is a great opportunity for an individual to gain broad perspective of McDonald’s and the Global Total Rewards team.

 

As a Global Mobility Supervisor, you will help drive greater business value and partnership to our global assignee population and market contacts as well as internal teams such as Global People, Legal, Tax, Finance and Talent.  You will be responsible for ensuring we execute on the day to days needs as we move staff and leaders across the globe.    This role reports to the Global Mobility Manager – Tax Lead in Global Total Rewards.

Duties

What you will be doing

 

  • Process all vendor invoices for the Global Mobility team, prepare, analyze and submit monthly expense and balance sheet account reconciliations manage budgets and ensure costs are recharged accurately and timely.
  • Be responsible for the overall global assignee compensation accumulation process including preparation of balance sheets and hypothetical tax calculations for global population while ensuring accuracy of reporting in accordance with the Global Mobility Policies.
  • Liaise with external Tax Provider and global Payroll teams to ensure appropriate hypothetical tax withholding rates are determined, communicated and implemented on annual bonuses, long-term incentive payments, ad-hoc lump-sum payments, etc. Advise global Payroll teams on how to recharge annual bonuses and associated taxes.
  • Oversee the tax equalization tracking, reporting, and collection process by partnering with our external Tax Provider and communicating directly with assignees and global Payroll teams.
  • Oversee the out of scope approval process for our external tax provider.
  • Request and manage global tax payments through wires or check request based on guidance from our external Tax Provider and our Treasury and Accounts Payable teams. Facilitate the mailing of U.S. extension and tax return balance due checks.
  • Present and develop training sessions on the financial aspects of Global Mobility to the global markets and corporate finance contacts.
  • Develop recommendations around current tax, finance and accounting processes that create overall long-term efficiencies.
  • Leverage technology and continuous improvement tools that align with Global Mobility Team’s vision and purpose.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Expertise in Excel and all other Microsoft programs

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global Mobility experience and/or general knowledge of global assignments, tax equalization, and payroll concepts
  • Experience with Equus Assignment Pro: navigation, creating and updating assignment records, preparation of cost estimates, continuous improvement implementations
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience with process documentation and continuous improvement
  • Ability to operate successfully in a team environment, collaborating with internal and external partners, and managing through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude
  • Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to handle complex situations and ambiguous situations exercising judgement and critical thinking skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Customer service skills and strong innovative mindset, especially towards automating and streamlining the existing processes

Compensation

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$75,700.00 - $94,620.00
