Department Overview

McDonald’s is a global leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, where innovation, collaboration, and technology play a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences for our customers. We are seeking a Manager to support prioritization and project management within the U.S. Technology Operational Excellence function to help drive the continuous improvement of McDonald's U.S. technology platform.

Drive prioritization, set metrics, and improve collaboration for organizational success. Through excellent project portfolio management, you will play a critical role in enhancing technology performance, reducing reliance on help desk support, and deploying technology across 13,000+ restaurants. This position requires a strategic leader who will focus on seamless execution and collaboration to protect operations and ensure the success of McDonald's technology initiatives.

This role requires on-site presence at McDonald’s Headquarters

Duties

Project Portfolio Data Analysis

  • Analyze large datasets from project plans and status reports to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in Power BI, manage workflows in JIRA, and ensure close integration with Program Management tools like Smartsheet and Planview.
  • Use data connectors and integrations to streamline reporting across platforms.
  • Present findings to leadership in a clear, compelling way that drives decision-making.
  • Help guide quarterly planning cycles and event with data-backed recommendations.

Project Portfolio Reporting

  • Improve and sustain dashboards and reporting tools to give leadership access to performance, progress, and key decisions.
  • Own Project Portfolio Reporting backlog to track, assess, and incorporate ideas and leadership requests.
  • Develop data-backed recommendations and insights to support leadership decisions and strategic priorities.
  • Support a data-driven culture by facilitating performance tracking, reporting, and process improvement efforts.
  • Streamline reporting processes to ensure transparency and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Build effective presentations to tell the story of US Technology and keep internal stakeholders informed about department projects and priorities.

Program Intake, Planning & Prioritization

  • Support the prioritization process to ensure U.S. Technology initiatives align with strategic goals and deliver value.
  • Monitor, drive, and refine a project portfolio management metrics strategy that brings to bear data across the portfolio to illustrate key insights for decision-makers.
  • Assist in data analysis and ensuring data accuracy to drive integrated planning and resource allocation processes, focusing on high-priority initiatives and efficient execution.
  • Track performance metrics to measure progress across U.S. Technology projects and programs.
  • Foster alignment among cross-functional teams and collaborators to improve collaboration and clarity on priorities.

Stakeholder Communication & Updates

  • Support a data-driven culture by facilitating performance tracking, reporting, and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with stakeholder communications to provide clear updates on initiatives, performance, and progress.

Project Management Center of Excellence Creation, Communication & Maintenance

  • Identify chances to improve project delivery through automation, process optimization, and innovative practices.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a shared digital artifact library to support knowledge sharing and standardization across the organization.
  • Monitor and correct process deviations.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in project portfolio data analysis, dashboard creation, operations strategy, or a related field
  • Experience developing and implementing performance metrics, reporting tools, or process improvements in a complex environment
  • Proficiency in program management tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Smartsheet, Planview)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop data-backed team and leadership announcements
  • Exposure to organizational change management tactics to drive adoption and adherence to processes

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $87,050.00 - $108,810.00 per year
