Department Overview
Working closely with our US Senior Leadership and cross-functional groups, the Strategy & Analytics and Performance Management team develops tools and processes to assess holistic business performance of McDonald’s US, crafts the performance narrative for the organization, and guides and supports growth-oriented priorities.
This includes defining the 3-year and 1-year strategies for the US business, identifying sources of future growth, developing financial ambitions and ongoing projections, creating new insights-based capabilities, and providing business performance analysis.
As a group, we drive focus on our business strategy by leading the process of identifying and establishing KPIs, producing tools to track and assess progress against our strategic priorities, and socializing this progress to key corporate and field office leaders. The team also leads the thinking on simplifying and automating reports as well as laying the foundation for the future of analytics at McDonald’s.
Duties
In this role, you will have an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams responsible for developing the national marketing calendar and strategic growth initiatives at McDonald’s. You will provide key insights into industry and internal trends, opportunities, and risks, shaping the future of our strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate strategic growth areas within the QSR industry and monitor McDonald’s performance across these areas
- Derive actionable insights through analysis of U.S. industry sata and McDonald’s internal data to maintain a pulse on industry performance, category performance, and competitor performance.
- Identify and size growth opportunities to optimize McDonald’s strategy and performance.
- Communicate analyses and insights effectively to partner with and influence key stakeholders, including senior leadership and franchisees.
- Design and implement robust measurement plans tailored to to strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with overall U.S. system performance.
- Lead ad hoc deep dive efforts into specific areas of internal performance, industry performance, and/or specific competitors or competitor offerings.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably with a focus in Business, Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Analytics, or other Business or Quantitative fields, MBA preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- 2+ years in a role with primary responsibilities around Consulting, Business Insights/Research, Strategy or analytics.
- Experience with popular data tools preferred (e.g. Alteryx, SQL, Tableau).
- Experience analyzing internal and/or external data sources and deriving actionable insights.
- Experience creating executive level deliverables and presenting to senior stakeholders.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $87,050.00 - $108,810.00 per year
