Department Overview

Based out of our headquarters in the West Loop of Chicago, U.S. Finance is comprised of several teams of professionals that oversee all internal financial planning and analysis activity, economic policy and franchisee financial support for McDonald's USA, LLC. The various groups within the department work together to provide in-depth financial reporting for both the Company and its franchisees, preserve the internal control environment, and plan for the various business unit's capital, G&A and operating income goals. In addition, teams provide economic analysis on new business introductions such as menu, equipment, and operating procedures and manage the investment portfolio for assets related to Company owned restaurants.  

Duties

This position provides an outstanding opportunity for an individual to participate in and learn about McDonald’s U.S. business by contributing to the market’s financial strategy through the development and execution of Economic Policies and partnering programs. In this position, you will build an understanding of our key financial policies, become an expert on how McDonald’s makes money, and impact business performance at both the restaurant and market level.  This role also has one direct report.

Responsibilities include:

-Influence the development of Economic Policies and facilitate strategic communication to U.S. Leadership and the NFLA Economics Teams

-Lead cross functional consultation with Field Finance and other U.S. Finance teams on the appropriate application and interpretation of all Economic Policies for actual scenarios

-Complete financial analysis and present business cases, as needed, in support of Initiative-driven Policy reviews and proposals

-Oversee all Policy documentation and communication to company staff and Franchisees

-Assist in the review and completion of periodic Plan and Projection analyses to measure the performance and financial impact of Economic Policies; leverage data and analytics to optimize reporting

-Continuously improve processes and communication with Field Finance and other stakeholders

-Gain a deep understanding of U.S. economic policies and adapting analysis as needed that leads to optimal decision making for our growth plans.

-Lead ad hoc analysis and special projects to enhance our financial strategies as well as opportunities for broader exposure to the U.S. Finance organization. 

 

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.  CPA, CFA and/or MBA preferred but not required. 

-2-4 years of Finance/Accounting experience or related business experience 

-Strategic problem solver and critical thinker, especially when faced with difficult decisions to ensure we are driving the greatest long-term value to the System 

-Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail 

-Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing and changing priorities 

-Strong communication and influencing skills, both verbally and written, to interact with all customers and levels 

-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build quality relationships 

-Curiosity and desire to understand broader business strategy 

-Field finance and franchise relations experience would be beneficial to this role, but not required 

-High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is: $75,700.00 - $94,620.00
