This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO), where our mission is to deliver modern and relevant technology that supports the way McDonald’s works. We provide outstanding foundational technology products and services including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. It’s our goal to always provide engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers.
The Technical Product Analyst, Restaurant Systems Management (RSM), is part of the Restaurant Infrastructure & Operations Platform team within Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO). This role works with the Senior Manager, Platform Lead (RSM) and is responsible for analyzing and evaluating opportunities to evolve capabilities of the RSM platform, focusing on device configuration and management, compliance, software installation, and security patching. Working closely with multi-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and market teams, you will ensure our platform evolves to meet the needs of emerging technologies in our restaurants.
This is an exciting opportunity for an expert technology leader to help craft the transformation of infrastructure and operations products and services to the entire McDonalds environment.
Responsibilities
- Product Analysis: conduct in-depth analysis of our restaurant systems management platform to see opportunities for improvements and innovation.
- Requirements: collaborate with product managers, customers, and partners to collect and document technical product requirements related to device management, compliance, software deployment, and security.
- Agile Product Development: act as a key player in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-up meetings.
- Market Research: stay informed about industry trends and driven products, especially those relevant to restaurant device management and security, to advise our platform development strategies.
- Technical Expertise: develop a deep understanding of the technical architecture and components of our platform, including current and future support technologies such as Microsoft System Center (Configuration Manager, Intune), Ansible, Jamf, and related Systems Management technologies.
- Feature Documentation: build detailed technical specifications and feature documentation, decomposing into features, epics, and stories in Jira.
- Quality Assurance: participate in testing and quality assurance processes to ensure that product features are implemented accurately and meet performance benchmarks.
- User Experience: Advocate for user-centric designs and interfaces to improve the usability and accessibility of our platform capabilities.
- Run the Jira workflow for assigned products, acting as the scrum master to ensure team is applying agile standard methodologies and conducting ceremonies such as sprint planning.
Qualifications
- Confirmed experience as a technical product analyst or similar role in the software industry, with a proven focus on Agile product development methodologies and using Jira for project management.
- Experience with Tanium, Intune, Ansible, or related endpoint management systems.
- Hands-on technical background (app development, PowerShell scripting, Python scripting, database administration, operating system administration, networking, Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Windows Servers (systems configurations, OS images, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, Domain Controllers, security patching, automated software deployments, etc.).
- Understanding of networking and cyber security concepts (firewalls, network ports, network tracing, IP subnets, etc.).
- Experience with data analytics and reporting.
- Understanding of Linux based OS administration.
- Understanding of Virtualization and Container Management platforms.
- 2+ years of product execution experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or physics, or an associate’s degree with 4+ years of equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting user research and translating into solution requirements.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $98,140.00 - $125,130.00 per year
