Ingredients of this Job
The Internal Communications Supervisor drives clear, timely and engaging communication across McDonald’s Belgium and oversees the customer care function. The role ensures employees, restaurant teams, franchisees receive relevant and consistent communication that supports business priorities and protects trust in the brand.
Combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery, the role connects leadership communication, employee and crew engagement, franchisee communication and customer care. It strengthens the processes, governance, channels and routines needed for clear, consistent and responsive communication.
The role acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and coordinates enterprise communications, engagement moments and customer care topics requiring cross-functional alignment. It requires strong stakeholder management, sound judgement and high-quality written content at speed.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise & Leadership Communications
- Develop and deliver the business narrative, communications strategy and key messages aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Support the Managing Director and senior leaders with speeches, presentations, talking points and key communications.
- Lead communication planning and alignment across functions, including governance, editorial planning and leadership communication routines.
Employee, Crew & Franchisee Engagement
- Deliver communications that strengthen culture, brand and menu excitement, and connect employees, crew and franchisees to business priorities.
- Partner with Operations, Marketing and other functions to develop clear messaging, presentations, key events and enterprise updates for franchisees.
- Improve the effectiveness, adoption and consistency of communication channels, routines and engagement across employees, crew and franchisee audiences.
Customer care
- Lead the customer care service with the dedicated agency partner, with clear governance, ways of working and accountability.
Your Menu
Experience & Background
- 4+ years in internal communications, employee engagement, corporate communications, or a similar role.
- Experience in a multinational company or international communications agency.
- Proven experience in building processes and communication strategies.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and message-crafting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for different audiences.
- Strong multilingual communication skills: fluent in Dutch and French ( native level proficiency in at least one of the two), with strong English proficiency and excellent written English skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise leaders and align cross-functional teams.
- Able to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and deliver high-quality work at pace.
- Comfortable managing agencies, budgets, and external partners.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and communication channels.
- A successful contributor to cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, flexible, and able to bring structure in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficient in using AI tools to support communication planning, content creation and operational efficiency, with sound judgement and a responsible approach to their use.
