Department Overview

McDonald's is seeking an experienced Global Program Manager to lead the global delivery, governance, adoption, and continuous evolution of the Restaurant recruitment ecosystem across markets.

This individual contributor role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of the McHire program which leads crew hiring for restaurants world-wide, ensuring platform stability, operational excellence, vendor performance, and successful execution of strategic initiatives. The role serves as the central point of coordination across business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, and external partners to drive scalable solutions and consistent service delivery globally.

Operating in a highly matrixed environment, the successful candidate will bring strong program management, stakeholder engagement, governance, and change leadership capabilities, with experience leading global technology-enabled programs and managing complex cross-functional initiatives, within the HR function.

Duties

Global Program Ownership

  • Own the global McHire platform roadmap, governance, and operational delivery across markets.
  • Drive platform adoption while balancing global standards with regional business requirements.
  • Monitor program performance, risks, dependencies, and overall business outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and platform capabilities.

Program Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and lead governance forums for decision-making, issue resolution, prioritization, and change control.
  • Act as the primary point of coordination between business, technology, operations, vendors and external partners.
  • Present program updates, insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead executive communications and stakeholder engagement activities.

Service Delivery & Escalation Management

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for platform, operational, and service-related challenges.
  • Drive timely resolution of issues through structured problem-solving and stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensure continuity, quality, and effectiveness of global service delivery.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and governance processes.
  • Track performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual commitments.
  • Conduct business reviews and drive accountability for service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with vendors to identify innovation and optimization opportunities.

Program Delivery & Execution

  • Develop and manage program roadmaps, priorities, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of projects and platform improvements.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support implementation and rollout of new capabilities across global markets.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, user experience, and scalability.
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor success.
  • Drive standardization and best practices across markets.
  • Lead initiatives focused on enhancing platform adoption and operational effectiveness.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Lead change readiness, communication, and adoption strategies for platform enhancements and global initiatives.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and ongoing engagement.
  • Support training, documentation, and user enablement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Operations, HR, or a related discipline.
  • 7–11 years of experience in Program Management, Operations, Shared Services, Technology Delivery, or Business Transformation environments.
  • Proven experience managing global or multi-regional programs in the Human resources Function, with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in a complex matrix environment.
  • Experience managing vendors, service delivery models, governance forums, and performance metrics.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities, including roadmap planning, prioritization, and execution.
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, or digital transformation programs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making without direct authority.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing workforce, or employee-facing technology platforms.
  • Exposure to high-volume operational environments, franchise businesses, or global service delivery models.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Paradox, Workday, ServiceNow, or similar SaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with change management and governance frameworks.
  • Experience in GCC, GBS, consulting, PMO, or transformation environments.
  • A background including large-scale recruitment initiatives would be a desirable attribute.
