Department Overview

McDonald’s has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Total Rewards role in the Human Resource Team at the McDonald’s Global Office in India.   You will be responsible for supporting  local compensation & benefits design and implementation in our Hyderabad, India office.  You will assist in championing best practices that align with our Global People operating model & our Global Total Rewards strategy.

You will report into the Local Head of HR in the Hyderabad Office & closely partner with the International Compensation Team in the Global Total Rewards team to drive global initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of best practices in both compensation & benefits programs in India.  The candidate should also have a data-driven approach to executing Total Rewards programs effectively

Duties

In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Provide support and guidance on local compensation and benefits matters, fostering a collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to ensure governance in hiring processes & candidate pay decisions.   Ensure that Total Rewards programs are designed to attract candidates in the Hyderabad market.
  • Partner with the Global Total Rewards team to ensure that local compensation and benefits structures are market competitive and aligned to McDonald’s global principles.
  • Work with Legal and People teams to ensure compensation and benefits programs are locally compliant. 
  • Conduct and participate in training sessions for Hyderabad employees related to compensation and benefits programs & philosophy.
  • Collaborate with international People and Rewards partners to understand market-specific needs and support the deployment of corporate employee compensation strategies.

 

Market Research, Evaluation & Data Collection:

  • Help develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of corporate compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on compensation and benefits best practices.
  • Analyze competitive compensation data to inform strategy adjustments.
  • Ensure the local India compensation strategy aligns with McDonald’s organizational goals and supports the attraction, motivation, and retention of corporate employees.

 

Reporting & Presentation:

  • Stay informed of industry compensation and benefits trends, emerging practices, and changes in labor market conditions.
  • Generate reports and presentations summarizing survey findings, benchmarking results, and compensation.

Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized institution preferred.
  • Strong understanding of core Compensation & Benefits concepts, including salary structures, job evaluation, and pay benchmarking.
  • Exposure to international compensation practices and global C&B frameworks is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or statistical techniques to interpret compensation insights.
  • Working knowledge of market benchmarking methodologies and compensation surveys (e.g., Mercer, Aon).
  • Familiarity with Indian compensation regulations, statutory benefits, tax implications, and local market compensation trends.
  • Ability to perform market analysis to evaluate internal competitiveness and external parity.
  • Understanding of Total Rewards principles and evolving C&B best practices.

 

Desirable Experience

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect compensation insights with broader HR and business priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing compensation dashboards, MIS reports, and analytical insights for leadership reviews.
  • Experience supporting annual merit cycles, pay revision processes, and benefits administration.
  • Proficiency in working with HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) for data extraction and analytics.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities to communicate insights to HR and business stakeholders.
  • Exposure to designing and administering performance-linked pay, incentive plans, or sales compensation frameworks.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams and collaborate with COEs, HRBPs, and Finance.
