About Us

McDonalds has run its business in the UK since 1974 and currently operates over 1500 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, serving almost four million customers each day. McDonalds is one of the UKs largest private sector employers, employing over 170,000 people.

About the Team

The Strategy, Planning & Digital (SP&D) team is McDonald's UK&I Supply Chain's internal strategy and transformation function. Partnering with senior leaders, franchisees, suppliers and global teams, the team develops long-term strategy, drives organisational effectiveness, governs prioritisation and leads major transformation programmes, helping ensure Supply Chain remains both a source of competitive advantage and a key contributor to the strategic direction of the UK&I business.

Supply Chain faces some of the most significant opportunities and challenges in the world of business. From delivering net zero across restaurant operations and supply chains through the elimination of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and strengthening agricultural resilience, to navigating geopolitical conflict, inflationary pressures, climate disruption and global supply chain shocks, the function plays a critical role in protecting growth, restaurant profitability and long-term business resilience.

Managing billions of pounds of annual spend, McDonald's UK&I Supply Chain supports one of the busiest restaurant systems in both the McDonald's network and the UK restaurant sector. The function secures commercially advantageous partnerships that create value for customers, franchisees and suppliers whilst ensuring the resilience, safety and quality of supply across more than 1,500 restaurants.
