McDonald’s is currently seeking a Temporary Construction Procurement Specialist to join our team and support the opening and remodeling of our restaurants.

This role is responsible for managing negotiations and agreements with construction suppliers, working closely with opening engineers to define requirements, issue bids, negotiate prices and contracts, and calculate and report savings. Strong supplier management and sourcing best practices will be essential to achieving project objectives and expected results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current costs, identify improvement opportunities, and drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Develop project plans, deliverables, metrics, and milestones for assigned projects.
  • Support supplier qualification and the supplier selection process.
  • Lead and manage negotiations with suppliers.
  • Support and, at times, lead execution and transition activities.
  • Benchmark costs and savings after successful implementation.
  • Manage supplier relationships across all construction categories, including:
    • Collecting and analyzing key supplier data (volumes, costs, performance metrics, financial information).
    • Identifying supplier risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
    • Reviewing and approving supplier performance standards and measures.
  • Contribute to annual category management plans.
  • Facilitate escalations between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication between the department, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Apply supplier management and sourcing best practices consistently.

Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Technical Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Supply Chain or procurement environments.
  • 4+ years of experience in purchasing, negotiation, or equivalent roles in related functions.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement and supplier management best practices, including supplier selection, negotiation, evaluation, and development.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and establish mutually beneficial contracts and business relationships.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to structure analyses and solve complex or ill‑defined problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present conclusions to management.
