Software Engineer II - Next JS

Duties

  • Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. 
  • As a software development engineer on a team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, road map and development of product features from beginning to end. 
  • Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security. 
  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables. 
  • Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important priorities. 
  • Qualifications

    • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience. 
    • Strong experience building web applications using TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript.
    • Hands-on experience building production applications with Next.js, including App Router, Server Components, Route Handlers, Middleware, caching/revalidation strategies, and SEO considerations.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience. 
    • Experience writing automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Playwright, Vitest, and React Testing Library.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Solution-oriented attitude and ability to solve tough problems in a collaborative, cross-functional, and fast-paced environment. 
    • Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with authentication, session management, and application state management.
    • Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), SEO, responsive design, and modern rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, ISR).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for building exceptional customer experiences.
    • Ability to independently drive features from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
    • (Preferred, not required): Experience with Git/GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployment platforms, especially Vercel.
