Company: McDonald's Corporation

McDonald's is an international company that provides unique opportunities for personal and professional development, the possibility to balance study and work, or to have time for friends and family. As a company, we respect every individual.

McDonald’s Supply Chain is a critical enabler of the business, ensuring reliable delivery while balancing cost, resilience, and simplicity across a highly complex, franchise‑led system.

As the Czech & Slovakia Supply Chain Lead, you are responsible for leading the supply chain agenda across both markets, working through strong partnerships and influence to align strategy with local execution.

Positioned at the heart of a highly franchised system, you will partner closely with franchisees, operations, marketing, and suppliers to ensure supply chain priorities are clearly understood, commercially grounded, and effectively delivered.

You will be accountable for shaping the direction and performance of the market supply chain, bringing together internal teams and external partners to deliver aligned, resilient, and commercially strong outcomes.

Key accountabilities:

Supply chain leadership & orchestration

  • Lead the end‑to‑end supply chain agenda across Czech & Slovakia
  • Translate regional and global supply chain strategy into clear, locally actionable plans
  • Shift the function from execution‑focused to more strategic and forward‑looking
  • Ensure supply chain enables commercial, operational, and brand priorities

Franchisee & stakeholder influence

  • Act as a trusted advisor to franchisees, translating supply chain decisions into commercial impact
  • Partner closely with key internal functions: Operations, Marketing, Finance.
  • Provide clear storytelling on cost, trade‑offs, and supply decisions
  • Influence outcomes across a three‑legged stool model without direct authority

External partner & supplier management

  • Own the strategic relationship with the external supply chain partner, including:
      • Performance management
      • Governance and escalation
      • Cost and commercial dialogue
  • Lead outcomes‑focused conversations, not day‑to‑day operational management
  • Ensure alignment between supplier decisions and franchisee economics

Strategy & planning

  • Own the 3‑year supply chain and category plan across both markets (~200 restaurants)
  • Balance local sourcing, flexibility, cost, service, and resilience
  • Support market growth and restaurant expansion
  • Ensure supply chain supports marketing plans and operational execution

Risk, resilience & crisis leadership

  • Act as the market lead in supply disruption or crisis situations
  • Coordinate across operations, franchisees, suppliers, and global teams
  • Maintain continuity of supply and clear communication
  • Build long‑term resilience aligned to global standards

People leadership

  • Lead and develop a expert team of 5
    • Czech: 4
    • Slovakia: 1
  • Build capability in influence, commercial thinking, and stakeholder management
  • Drive engagement and retention in a high‑impact team

What success looks like

  • Franchisees are aligned and confident in supply chain decisions
  • Supply chain is seen as a strategic partner, not just an execution function
  • External partners are effectively managed
  • The function supports growth, stability, and flexibility across both markets

Candidate profile
We are seeking a commercially minded supply chain leader with the ability to influence across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments and translate strategy into clear, actionable outcomes.

Essential experience

  • Supply chain leadership in franchise, QSR, FMCG, or similarly complex environments
  • Experience managing through partners rather than direct operational ownership
  • Strong stakeholder management across commercial and operational teams
  • Ability to translate strategy into practical execution

Capabilities

  • Strong influencer and relationship builder
  • Ability to simplify complexity and communicate clearly
  • Commercially confident in discussing cost and trade‑offs
  • Resilient and composed under pressure
