Duties

Position Purpose

The PMO Director for IDL Segment is accountable for driving progress of strategic growth and change initiatives, with particular focus on China & Japan markets. This role ensures enterprise-level alignment, high-quality execution, and seamless integration of global priorities into local market operations.

The PMO Director acts as a strategic bridge between McDonald’s global functions, IDL Segment Leadership Team, McDonald’s China Leadership, and McDonald’s Japan Leadership to foster collaboration and accelerate transformation.

 

Must be able to travel to markets and for relevant international business meetings, as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment & Integration:
Support integration of key enterprise priorities into markets (e.g. marketing, technology, supply chain, new restaurant development)

Ensure initiatives are translated into market-relevant plans based on local context (e.g., sustainability, operations standards).

Represent McDonald’s enterprise perspectives in local market forums (e.g., strategy reviews, transformation SteerCo groups).

Surface early-stage issues to prevent misalignment.

Project Planning & Execution:

Develop and manage detailed project plans with defined KPIs to meet overall objectives, report initiative progress regularly.

Schedule and facilitate key alignment and project meetings, manage meeting content, and coordinate actions & next steps.

Keep projects on track through documentation of standing meeting, critical tasks, risk and issue tracking, and status reports.

Track and analyze project outcomes, provide insights for continuous improvement

 

Cross-Functional Partnership:

Build relationships and partner closely with IDL Segment, Market, and Global teams to support timely, seamless, and high-quality executions.

Act as the bridge between Global, IDL Segment, and local market teams to enable open communication and nimble problem-solving.

Qualifications

Candidate Profile & Competencies

Experience: 10+ years in project management within digital/tech domains; consulting background preferred.
Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to deconstruct business challenges and drive transformation.
Cultural Competency: Deep experience in multicultural, matrixed environments; fluency in Mandarin and English preferred.
Stakeholder Management: Skilled in navigating competing agendas with diplomacy and clarity.
Leadership Style: Operates with humility, curiosity, and influence; builds trust across corporate, local, and Partners landscapes.
Change Management: Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-level change initiatives; Adaptable to change and uncertainty with the flexibility to work in a fast paced environment.
Communication: Mastery of structured communication frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
