Department Overview

Could you be our next Payroll Officer?

The purpose of the Payroll Officer role is to process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls and ensure payments to employees are performed accurately and in a timely manner. The Payroll Officer performs various reporting and reconciliation processes, and will have a customer service focus.

Duties

What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Processing of AUS Weekly
  • Processing of AUS Semi-monthly
  • Answering of Payroll Phone Calls/emails
  • Processing of Bank File 
  • Compiling of Various Payroll Related Reporting 
  • Payment of employees pays into correct bank account where they have been returned 
  • Payments to vendors for employee’s deductions (eg. Union, Garnishee's etc). 
  • Adhering to compliance requirements 
  • Calculation of Payroll tax and payments 
  • Processing of Group tax payments 
  • Administration of Handovers/New Stores. 

Qualifications

 

Your keys to success:

Essential technical and behavioural skills 

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills 
  • Able to effectively prioritise for self and others in order to complete tasks in a timely manner 
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy within work 

Desirable 

  • Experience with Excel, including lookups, pivot tables and similar functions preferred.
