The McDonald’s Canada Finance team has an excellent opportunity for a full time Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Consultant to join our team. This position offers a tremendous opportunity for an individual to gain an understanding of McDonald’s business and progress their career within the Finance organization.

This person would be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the Canadian business. This role supports period-end close processes, prepares financial statements, performs variance analysis, and ensures strong internal controls. It plays a key role in supporting informed decision-making within Finance and partnering with cross-functional teams locally and globally.

Duties

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepares financial statements and schedules to meet Canadian and U.S. reporting requirements
  • Leads and takes ownership of monthly close activities including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze, monitor and interpret key financials information, investigate anomalies, and provides commentary to leadership to drive business results and governance
  • Leads post month end discussions with key stakeholders to review results
  • Assist with various ad-hoc analysis, requests and special projects for Finance Directors and CFO

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Global Planning team, Global Corporate Controller Group and local stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projections, annual plans and reporting requirements
  • Work cross functionally with stakeholders to drive business results and operation efficiencies to streamline processes and enhance data quality
  • Improve financial acumen among non-finance stakeholders through formal finance presentations as well as informal coaching and discussions.

Controls, Compliance & Governance

  • Review monthly and quarterly Internal Controls are operating effectively and compliant with Canadian policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure stakeholders understand and uphold financial policies and internal controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation or actively working toward CPA
  • 2–4+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Results-driven individual
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities and is able to connect the dots between process, systems and accounting
  • Proven communication skills with the ability to translate financial and accounting data into insights
  • Demonstrates curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, variance analysis, reporting) and experience with Oracle ERP systems and working with Global Business Services/Shared Services

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $76,799 - $102,398 per year
