This position will report to the Snr Manager, Tax and works closely with the Tax and Finance teams as well as key stakeholders.  We are looking for a professional that is motivated to learn, develop, and grow within our organization. 

Who You Are

The Tax Consultant/Senior Tax Analyst, Canada plays a key role in supporting the Company’s Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. This position is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and review of Canadian indirect tax obligations, supporting corporate income tax, and other related tax matters.  The role partners closely with co‑sourcing partners, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support tax optimization initiatives.

Duties

The person in this role will have the following major responsibilities:

  • Support indirect tax compliance activities, including GST/HST, QST, PST, and other applicable taxes, working closely with Finance, Accounts Payable, and external advisors to ensure accurate reporting and remittance.
  • Collaborate with co‑sourcing partners as required to timely, accurately prepare and review Canadian corporate income tax provisions, filings and responsible for tax accounting, including  non-resident withholding tax requirements.
  • Prepare, and maintain detailed tax workpapers and audit‑ready documentation to support Canadian tax positions and respond to internal reviews, external audits, and tax authority inquiries.
  • Monitor and analyze Canadian federal and provincial tax legislation,  administrative guidance, audits, and business developments to assess potential tax impacts and recommend actions.
  • Support Canadian tax planning initiatives related to business transactions, legal entity changes, intercompany arrangements, financing structures, and cross‑border activities, in coordination with U.S. and global tax teams.
  • Analyze transactions or processes to identify tax implications and assist with communication to the appropriate functional areas in the Canadian organization.
  •  Assist with  audits and tax controversy matters, including information requests, issue analysis, drafting responses, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal tax policies, including documentation standards, internal controls, record retention, and reporting timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhanced use of tax technology and data analytics.
    • Provide technical support and collaborate with Tax Accounting, Finance, Legal, other cross‑functional teams and with Global Tax, as required, on Canadian and global tax‑related matters. and key financial statement accounts.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Solid foundation in both indirect and direct Canadian taxation, with the ability to apply technical knowledge pragmatically.
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion is an asset.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and technology‑enabled tax solutions.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and solution‑oriented approach, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA (Canada) designation or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5 or more years of Canadian corporate tax experience, gained in a public accounting firm and/or a multinational corporate tax department.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GST and provincial sales.
  • Understanding of Canadian corporate income tax including current and deferred tax provision concepts and a solid understanding of advanced financial and income tax accounting.
  • Experience with Canadian tax compliance and provision software (e.g., ONESOURCE, Taxprep, or similar platforms) is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with data transformation and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is expected. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to leverage technology to streamline tax processes, support modeling activities, and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role $76,799- $102,398 per year.
