Ronald McDonald House Canada is the national foundation of support for 37 programs across Canada – 16 Ronald McDonald Houses and 21 Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms. In an average year, these programs support more than 30,000 families with sick children – keeping families close to each other, and close to the heath care their child needs. The Ronald McDonald House Canada Mission Advancement & Chapter Support Team expands the organization’s reach and strengthens the national network by working with a network of 11 Regional Chapters on all aspects of mission delivery, including new program development and expansion, license compliance, chapter excellence, national support programs, and issues management. Leading a team of two, the Director, RMHC Field Operations (ED Mission Advancement & Chapter Support) will play a fundamental role in evolving Ronald McDonald House Canada’s strong foundation as a credible, caring, and respected organization within Canada’s charitable and pediatric healthcare landscape, operating at the highest standards. Essential to the success in this position will be the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships, influence change across the organization, and to develop a strong understanding of the impact Ronald McDonald House Canada has across the country, as an integrated partner to the pediatric healthcare system, and as part of a collective commitment to ensuring that no family in need is turned away.

Who you are
You will play a critical role in strengthening Ronald McDonald House across Canada by translating the national growth strategy and global approval process to support local program.  This position will support the enhanced national office with a focus on integrated mission delivery oversight and enablement, chapter excellence, national support programs and capacity building. This individual will lead oversight and coordination of mission advancement, operational compliance, and risk management across the network and in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Global, and 11 Regional Chapters across Canada.

The role will involve extensive collaboration and change management with key stakeholders, including the national Board of Directors, Ronald McDonald House Canada staff team, Ronald McDonald House Global, McDonald’s Canada, and 11 Regional Chapters across Canada.

Duties

In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Capacity Building:

  • Responsible for stewarding organizational excellence, operational compliance and capacity building for Ronald McDonald House across Canada.
  • Assess system needs and allocate resources for growing and maintaining the national network.
  • Oversee and lead the new National Chapter Excellence Program - 3-year accreditation and annual operational capacity building program for all Ronald McDonald House Regional Affiliate Chapters in Canada.
  • Ensure global and national system resources are relevant, up-to-date, accessible, understood and consistently applied across the network.

 

National Mission Growth & Expansion:

  • Lead the Ronald McDonald House program growth and expansion approval process – including program and hospital partner assessment, medical, operational and financial feasibility, Ronald McDonald House licensed programs standards and risk, capital and operational funding approvals, establishing sound organizational systems and practices, aligned to Global processes.
  • Plan integration and change management with a focus on partnership, creating alignment with key stakeholders, three year impact strategy, national ambitions and established vision for the future of Ronald McDonald House Canada.

System Alignment:

  • Build relationships and influence leaders across the organization and national network to align system values, share and improve operating practices, within the established license standards and excellence framework.
  • Manage overall reputational risk and license compliance in partnership with 11 Regional Chapters across Canada, including national level issues and crisis management – lead a timely, consistent and compassionate response to issues that present risk to Ronald McDonald House brand and operations.

National Convening and Collaboration:

  • Foster planning and execution of a regular cadence of system leadership engagement to advance national ambitions, including advisory input from the National CEO Leadership Council.
  • Lead, mobilize, and coordinate the Ronald McDonald House Canada leadership team to provide relevant support and monitoring of regional Chapters including financial health monitoring and capacity building, governance capacity-building, national program and partnership development and fulfillment, Chapter Excellence, policy and best practice sharing, in kind / shared services, data and reporting.
  • Engage with Ronald McDonald House Global field team on operational standards and compliance alignment, including the execution of the Chapter Excellence framework, policy and best practice sharing, in kind / shared services support, system resources, data and reporting coordination.
  • Engage with Ronald McDonald House Global on the execution of the mission partnership and enablement function, i.e., Chapter risk and issues management, expansion, operations and capacity building.

Data Driven Decision Making:

  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of National Support Programs with improved coordination and reporting.
  • Leverage data to improve decision making.

Talent Development & Resource Management:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of two through professional growth and development.
  • Foster and support an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.
  • Build and strengthen a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in strategic, enterprise-level operational leadership roles.
  • Track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder mission-driven organizations from the federated nonprofit, education, healthcare, corporate or charity sectors.
  • Strategic and results-oriented with a strong relational style.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of building strong business relationships, while navigating competing priorities.
  • Strong partner working across a federated model and leading with influence across reporting lines and levels in a multi-stakeholder, cross-functional, matrixed environment.
  • Energized by complexity, growth, and long-term planning.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to engage effectively with all stakeholders from
  • Board members to team members.
  • Innovative thinker with change agility.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000 per year
