The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A and Business Partnering, this role will be a key member of the Finance team and a trusted strategic partner to the Marketing organization. The Manager, Finance Business Partner (Marketing) will provide financial leadership and guidance to the Marketing Leadership Team and oversee the financial management of the National Marketing Forum (NMF) and Regional Marketing Forums (RMFs), ensuring sound financial stewardship, governance, and risk management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities of the NMF and RMFs through an external accounting partner, leading quarterly forecasting and financial planning processes, and coordinating the preparation and reporting of financial statements to lending institutions. The role also includes providing regular financial insights and recommendations to the Boards of Directors and Operator Leadership bodies.

Beyond the core responsibilities, this position offers the opportunity to serve as a Finance thought partner on national cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects, influencing key business decisions that support the growth and success of the McDonald's Canada system.

Key stakeholders include the CMO, the Marketing Leadership Team, Boards of Directors, financial institutions, external accounting partners, auditors, the CFO, and Operator Leadership teams.

Duties

In addition to following McDonald’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Strategic/Business Development

  • Active member of the Marketing Leadership team in the development of short and long-term strategies
  • Finance Lead within Marketing and for cross functional initiatives that impact the Marketing Forums
  • Strategic business partnering with various stakeholders to optimize costs and maximize returns while supporting business priorities
  • Oversight of risk management for Marketing Forums
  • Engage and lead discussions with Marketing Forum Board of Directors on finance related matters and strengthen confidence in management of Marketing Forums financials
  • Provide key strategic and financial oversight on cross function teams for special projects

Fiduciary Responsibility 

  • Overseeing the finances for the Marketing Forums which include compliance with accounting and reporting standards, maintaining financial controls and safeguarding the assets of the Marketing Forums
  • Ensuring the financial health of the Marketing Forums including cash flow management
  • Management of the Audit for the National and Regional Marketing Forum of Ontario
  • Responsible for presenting the audited financial statements at the Annual General Meetings (“AGM”)
  • Enhancing processes and ensuring adherences to guidelines and funding principles related to overall governance of the Marketing Forums
  • Working with Stakeholders to develop the Annual Budget and providing projections to Marketing Leadership including Board of Directors
  • Foster a culture of accountability with stakeholders as it relates to budget and expenditure management

People 

  • Foster an environment that supports and develops a high-performing team
  • Responsible for educating stakeholders on understanding financial information, policies, procedures and governance
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enable development of the team
  • Manages key relationships with banks, suppliers and accounting firms to support the ongoing success of the Marketing Forums

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a CPA designation required.
  • A minimum 5-7 years of relevant business experience.
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and be an effective and strategic business partner
  • Thrives in a dynamic and ever-changing environment, with the ability to adapt and shift priorities as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Solid influencing and strategic leadership skills.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is $89,599.00 - $127,998.00 per year
