The Opportunity
The Supervisor, Supply Chain Services position will reside in Toronto, ON and will be part of the Distribution, Supply Chain Integration and Programs team within the Canadian Supply Chain Department, providing Indirect Procurement support across a variety of categories. The person in this position will ensure: an assured supply of products to our restaurants while providing best value to our System, the safety and quality of our products, support to the Franchisees and restaurants in achieving their goals, as well as supplier alignment with our Corporate goals. Key stakeholders will include the Marketing, People, and Operations teams, Senior Management on the Canadian Supply Chain team, Franchisees, and Suppliers.

Duties
- Strategic Sourcing and Category Management
- Executing and championing GSSS’s 7-Step Strategic Sourcing process
- Managing assigned categories and associated supplier relationships
- Directing and assuring supply of indirect categories on a National basis
- Accountable for category Total Cost of Ownership
- Ensures category contingency plans are in place and executed as required
- Leads communications for category
- Oversees and directs category risk management strategy execution
- Subject matter expert on emerging category issues
- Protects the Brand by ensuring the compliance of our products
- Responsible for Canada Indirect savings targets
- Strategic indirect category support, delivering value to the market (savings, innovation, best practice, tools, etc.)
- Business and Supplier Relationship Management
- Manages the development of suppliers to ensure they are positioned to grow with us
- Supports and directs suppliers to achieve Competitive advantage goals
- Validates supplier competitiveness through external benchmarking
- Executes supplier negotiations to provide the best value for the system
- Recommends the approval and disapproval of suppliers as necessary
- Establishes performance and measurement systems for supplier efficiencies
- Facilitates supplier business reviews
- Develops and implements suppliers’ compensation programs & pricing protocols
- Provides low cost, best value to our System through continuous improvement of our products and services, collaborating with suppliers to ensure that capital is being appropriately allocated to provide the lowest cost of products available
- Supports the Franchisees in achieving their goals including that of increased cash flow
- Provides expertise and support to cross functional teams to help achieve Corporate goals
- Ensures department goals are aligned with and supports Corporate goals
- Provides purchasing & quality expertise to customers as required
- Liaison with various internal departments (Marketing, National Operations, People Team and Quality Systems).
- Staff Development
- Champions continuous improvement at the personal and team level
- Respects and values the opinions of others while contributing as a positive team member
- Demonstrates and reinforces the leadership behaviors and people practices necessary to gain commitment from Senior SCM Management, Franchisees, and suppliers
Qualifications
- Five to seven years of Supply Chain/Purchasing experience.
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain principles including procurement and logistics
- Able to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Strong people management and communication skills with a drive for success.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities including financial analysis competencies.
- Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adjust quickly to change
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $ 76,799 - $ 102,398 per year
